The term "intermittent failure" means a system may
have had a failure, but it checks OK now. If the

The functions of the fuel and emission control systems are managed by the
powertrain control module (PCM).
Self-diagnosis
The PCM detects a failure of a signal from a sensor
NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board
snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
3. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
