system will detect a loose or missing
fuel fill cap as an evaporative system
leak. The first time a leak is detected
a ‘‘CHECK FUEL CAP’’ message

Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and
any on-board snapshot, and review General
Troubleshooting Information (see page 14-4).
This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem
and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the
transmission.
1. Clear the DTC with the HD

Ball joint remover, 32 mm 07MAC-SL0A 102
Ball joint thread protector, 14 mm 071AF-S3VA000
1. Remove the front wheel.
2. Remove the flange bolt and flange nuts from the
lower arm (A).
NOTE: During installation, install a new flange bolt
and new flange nuts. After lightly
