Honda CR-V: Rear Differential Fluid

Honda CR-V (2006–2011) Owner's Manual / Maintenance / Rear Differential Fluid

4WD model only

The rear differential should be drained and refilled with new fluid according to the maintenance messages shown on the information display. Have your dealer replace the rear differential fluid.

Use Honda Dual Pump Fluid II only.

Do not use automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

 Adding Engine Oil

Unscrew and remove the engine oil fill cap on top of the valve cover. Pour in the oil slowly and carefully you do not spill any. Clean up any spills immediately. Spilled oil could damage components in the engine compartment. Reinstall the engine oil fill cap, and tighten it securely.

1. Install a new coolant separator in the engine block whenever the engine block is replaced. 2. Clean the cylinder head and block surface. 3. Install the new cylinder head gasket (A) and dowel pins (B) on the engine block. Always use a new cylinder head gasket. Set the crankshaft to top dead cen
